Village at Proprietors Green is donating $2,250 to the Marshfield Food Pantry, following the annual Holiday Boutique. Each year the senior living community invites local artisans and shopkeepers to display hand-made items at the boutique. A formal check presentation will take place in December.
Dr. Andrew Budson, author of Seven Steps to Managing Your Memory: What’s Normal, What’s Not, and What to Do About It, engaged the audience at Village at Proprietors Green as he talked about how individuals can distinguish changes in memory due to Alzheimer’s disease versus normal aging, what medications, vitamins, diets and exercise regimes can help, and the best habits, strategies, and memory aids to use in seven simple steps.

The Chief of Vascular Surgery at South Shore Hospital, Dr. Edward J. Marcaccio Jr., recently gave a presentation titled: Walking – The New Wonder Drug? Dr. Marcaccio talked about ways in which walking for just 20 minutes a day along with risk modification may help to lower the risk of peripheral artery disease (PAD) and certain cardiovascular events.
Residents, families, and staff love gathering each year to honor the dads among us! This year was no different as Village at Proprietors Green rolled out the red carpet of activities that included a vintage car show, music by the South Shore Bay Band, favorite summer-time food, and fun balloon animal headgear and wristbands.
Whenever possible, Village at Proprietors Green gathers generations together to celebrate festive or religious holidays and other celebrations. That certainly was true for the pre-Easter celebration and traditional egg hunt, where residents were joined by their adult children, their grandchildren and oftentimes their great-grandchildren.
