Seniors and Students Make Excellent Book Buddies

Residents of the Memory Care Program at Village at Proprietors Green visited first grade students at Martinson Elementary School in Marshfield to share their love of reading. The residents visited with teachers Mrs. Beth Debyah and Mrs. Erica McHugh. The students enjoyed reading their favorite books to their “Book Buddies,” and the residents enjoyed their role as helpers.  A shared love of reading is at the heart of the program.

What to Do for Hip and Knee Arthritis

Dr. Antonia F. Chen, MBA, Director of Research, Orthopaedic Arthroplasty Service, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, came to Village at Proprietors Green to talk about the treatment options for individuals with hip and knee arthritis. Nearly 60 individuals listened intently as Dr. Chen explained the various kinds and causes of arthritis, and how best to weigh one’s options between non-surgical and surgical treatments. It’s estimated that by the year 2025 nearly 67 million people will be living with some form of arthritis. Osteoarthritis is the most common form of the disease. Welch Senior Living’s Allerton House Assisted Living Communities strive to “Capture the Moment!” That is the theme of this year’s National Assisted Living Week celebrations. Addressing the Welch luncheon crowd at the Indian Pond Country Club in Kingston, Welch Senior Living Executive Director Paul Casale, Jr. said the communities work to “inspire our residents to seize the day.” Casale, Jr. acknowledged the staff for creating a beautiful experience for the day and a week of celebrations filled with exciting activities. Lobsterbake Networking Thank-You Event for Referral Partners

Every summer, Village at Proprietors Green thanks colleagues in the senior living industry for their continued partnership. This year’s Lobsterbake was no exception, with community referral partners stopping by to network, tour, and enjoy lobster and clam chowder. Professionals involved in all aspects of senior living were on hand including those from visiting nurse associations, skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers, area hospitals, home care agencies and elder care advocacy organizations.

Miss Commonwealth 2018 Sings Her Way into the Hearts of Residents!

Miss Commonwealth 2018 Christine Lattouf is spreading a personal message as she visits venues throughout the state.  Lattouf, 22, is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Boston, with a bachelor’s degree in biology. According to her LinkedIn Page her personal platform is “The Road to Recovery: Combating the Opioid Crisis.” She also has a beautiful voice, according to many who heard her sing recently at Village at Proprietors Green.
