There is a growing body of evidence that social isolation and loneliness take more of a toll on individuals who lack social connections than most people realize. Researchers presented the most recent findings on this subject at the 125th Annual Convention of the American Psychological Association, and concluded that loneliness and social isolation are serious public health issues that must be addressed.
At Village at Proprietors Green, we understand the importance of social engagement and offer older adults a wide variety of ways to stay socially active. The community features art and exercise classes, exciting lectures and themed parties, author talks and book signings, musical entertainment and frequent inter-generational events and programming, to name a few of the many opportunities for social engagement.
