Maura and Ken Rand found exactly what they wanted at Village at Proprietors Green – the perfect blend of independence and convenience to compliment their busy lives. Maura, who enjoys the regular visits hummingbirds make to their terrace door, says, “The atmosphere here is incredible. Our apartment is spacious, open and has a wonderful garden view.”
The couple, who live in Independent Living, particularly enjoys the community’s location and all of the opportunities it affords. Ken is a sixth generation Marshfield native who is happy with the easy commute to family businesses Rand-Handy Oil Company and Shore Pools and Services. Maura appreciates the close proximity of Roche Brothers and being able to walk to Marshfield Tavern to listen to Bob Sylvia on acoustic guitar. “The town has a lot to offer,” she says.
Village at Proprietors Green has much to offer onsite, too, and the Rands are pleased with its wide array of amenities and services. “The dining room is charming, and the dinners are always delicious,” says Maura. “And the servers are wonderful. When we see them around town they always stop to chat.” Entertainment programs, the putting green, movie nights, cocktail parties, and special events are also on the couple’s social calendar. “I recently left early from an event I was attending so I could get back to the Village in time for that day’s entertainment,” says Maura. “It’s also nice to see a good movie and not have to get into the car and drive home afterward.”
The Rand’s 13-year-old yellow Labrador retriever Toby settled right into his new home when the couple moved to Village at Proprietors Green in July 2015. A trained Canine Good Citizen dog, he loves going for walks and the attention he gets from neighbors and friends.
“I can’t say enough about the people who work here,” says Maura. “The staff is such a warm, accommodating group of people. We feel like they are our friends.”
